Harbor
I find myself standing on deck of the ship of my soul shrouded in mist...wetness clinging to my skin. The solitary nature of individuality haunts me as the harbor that I have come to know as home slowly fades away...becoming more and more distant and unfamiliar.
Yet something from deep within calls to me urging me to to get ready to make way, to clear the decks, hoist the sails and lighten my load. The tides have changed and the lines that are tied to the anchors that once kept me safe....now strain to set me free.
As I reach for the helm and look out towards the open sea my heading is unclear ...for my compass has yet to find true north.
Yet, I continue onward setting the sails, for they are mine to set and calling upon the four winds to fill them. Looking to the anchors that hold me fast, there’s a knowing that some will be hoisted on deck, while the others that no longer serve me....must be released.
With the dawning of this new day the mists begin to lift and sounds of the sea lapping at the hull fill the air. The random call of a distant gull captures my attention and as I look up I begin to notice that there are many other ships in the harbor beside me that are also readying to set sail.
With the rising of the fiery sun a fire rises up within me as well. It pulses through my veins as I breathe in the crisp fresh air and as the taste of adventure fills my soul. Knowing smiles are shared between myself and my comrades as a new journey is about to begin.
Together we will forge a path across the open sea of infinite possibilities and freedom. Together we will set sail, each at the helm of our own ship each doing our part by sharing our individual gifts of spirit.
This venture into the creation of a New World is a grand one indeed for those that hold the old harbor for us ...will be soon to follow in our wake. A time of passionate living, joy and peace is upon us all we need only play our part and make it so.
The voice of the open sea is calling...calling us home.....
